About Us
Founded in 2025, CALIA (Calvillo Action for Legal Immigration Access) is a nonprofit rooted in East Los Angeles and dedicated to serving immigrant communities with care, dignity, and purpose. We provide support, resources, and culturally grounded guidance to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of immigration systems.
While we are not attorneys, we are deeply committed to helping our community find clarity, direction, and the tools they need to move forward.
Our Mission
To advance equity and belonging by supporting immigrants, especially those unable to afford legal representation, through application preparation, guidance, and trusted resources. CALIA exists to ensure that every person, regardless of where they come from or how they arrived, is treated with dignity, clarity, and respect.
Assisted individuals in preparing immigration forms such as U Visa, VAWA, Employment Authorization, Advance Parole, and Emergency Advance Travel requests
Helped several clients submit applications that later received bona fide determinations or approvals
Provided trusted information and support to DACA recipients and undocumented individuals navigating complex status challenges
